The local media reported between several hundreds and 1,000, but we collected over 700 e-mails, and didn't even get to a good portion of the crowd, so I'm sure they're low-balling the estimates. After over an hour of inspiring speeches and songs, the crowd headed out from City Hall to the 16th Street Mall, which was peacefully shut down for a good half hour with chants and cheers.
